Overview
LGND Cameo Rose Check Valve is a compact one-way non-return valve designed to protect aquarium CO2 systems against water backflow. When the CO2 supply is switched off or system pressure falls, the internal mechanism closes automatically, helping prevent aquarium water from travelling backwards towards the regulator, solenoid valve or CO2 cylinder.
Its clear borosilicate glass body and distinctive rose-red internal mechanism provide reliable backflow protection while adding an elegant decorative detail to the CO2 installation.
LGND Cameo Rose Check Valve pairs perfectly with the LGND Cameo Rose Glass Bubble Counter, creating a coordinated glass CO2 system with matching rose-red accents. Used together, they combine visual consistency with precise CO2 monitoring and essential protection for upstream equipment.
Directions
Rinse the glass check valve with warm water before installation. Attach LGND CO2 Hose PRO 4/6 or other compatible 4/6 mm CO2-resistant tubing to both glass connections.
To attach the tubing, wet the inside of the tubing with water at the connection point and carefully slide it over the glass. The use of oils or other lubricants is not recommended, as these may cause the tubing to slide off the glass too easily.
To avoid breakage when removing the tubing, do not pull or twist it from the glass connection. Instead, carefully cut the tubing lengthwise along the attachment point to release the glassware.
Install the check valve upright and outside the aquarium. CO2 should enter through the lower connection and exit through the upper connection towards the bubble counter and diffuser. Position the valve inline between the CO2 regulator and the LGND Cameo Rose Glass Bubble Counter.
When using the check valve with the LGND Cameo Rose Glass Bubble Counter, we recommend filling the bubble counter with LGND Bubble Counter Liquid. Its specialised formulation resists evaporation for considerably longer than water, reduces the need for frequent refilling and improves the visibility of individual bubbles for more precise CO2 adjustment.
LGND Bubble Counter Liquid is available in four colours: Clear, Rose Red, Sapphire Blue and Green. Rose Red provides the closest visual match for the LGND Cameo Rose collection, although any colour may be selected to complement the individual aquarium installation.
Once all components are securely connected, slowly turn on the CO2 supply. Confirm that gas is flowing from the lower connection towards the aquarium and check that all tubing connections are secure.

What tubing can I use?

Will the check valve reduce CO2 pressure?
A correctly installed and functioning check valve should permit normal CO2 flow. If the flow becomes restricted, confirm the installation direction and inspect the tubing, regulator, bubble counter and diffuser for leaks, kinks or blockages.
How should the check valve be cleaned?
Turn off and fully depressurise the CO2 system before removing the valve. Rinse it carefully with warm water and allow it to dry completely before reinstalling. Do not insert tools or abrasive materials into the glass body.
What should I do if water passes beyond the valve?
Immediately turn off the CO2 supply, disconnect the system and inspect the valve, tubing, regulator and other connected equipment. Do not restart the system until the cause of the backflow has been identified and corrected.
Safety
LGND Cameo Rose Check Valve is made from glass and must be handled carefully. Do not use the valve if the glass is cracked, chipped or otherwise damaged.
Always turn off and fully depressurise the CO2 system before installing, removing, cleaning or repositioning the valve. Never pull, twist or bend the glass connections when attaching or removing tubing.
Install the valve outside the aquarium in a secure upright position where it cannot be knocked, dropped or placed under mechanical strain. Ensure that all tubing connections are secure before restoring the CO2 supply.
The check valve is a backflow-prevention device and must not be used as a pressure regulator, pressure-relief valve or primary shut-off valve. Always use a suitable aquarium CO2 regulator and remain within the operating limits of all connected equipment.
