Adjustable Water Flow
Adjust the water flow to suit your aquarium and its inhabitants. The SunSun YBF-500 delivers a maximum flow rate of 500 litres per hour, which can be reduced for fish that prefer gentler water movement. Turn the flow adjustment control at the outlet connection to set the desired flow.
Surface Skimmer
The adjustable surface skimmer draws in water from the surface to help collect floating debris and surface film. Together with the deeper inlet, it draws water from different levels of the aquarium. Keep the skimmer positioned correctly for your aquarium’s water level.
Separate Waste Separation Chamber
A separate chamber helps collect fish waste and debris before water reaches the main filtration chamber. Its stainless steel mesh assists with separating solid particles, while the transparent housing lets you monitor waste build-up. A dedicated drain valve allows collected waste to be flushed out during filter maintenance.
Stainless Steel Mesh & Coloured Beads
The stainless steel mesh helps separate solid waste and debris before water reaches the main filtration chamber. Coloured beads provide a visible indication of water movement within the separator, allowing you to monitor circulation at a glance.
Easy Waste Draining
The dedicated drain valve lets you flush collected waste from the separation chamber without dismantling the filter, making routine maintenance more convenient. Always disconnect the power before draining. Close the valve and refill the filter correctly before restarting.
Adjustable Hanging Hook
The adjustable hanging hook fits aquarium glass up to 12 mm thick, helping you position the filter securely on the tank edge. Adjust the support to suit the glass thickness and check that the filter is stable before filling it.
Dual-Seal Motor Cover
The motor cover uses two seals to help maintain a watertight connection. During cleaning, check that the seals are clean, correctly seated and undamaged before refitting the cover.
Durable Construction
The durable housing supports everyday aquarium use and regular maintenance. Handle the filter and its fittings carefully during disassembly, then refit each part securely before restarting.
