Overview ›
The LGND Eclipse Inline UV-C™ Series is a compact external ultraviolet steriliser designed to improve water clarity and reduce biological contamination in aquariums. It connects directly into your existing filter hose line, allowing filtered water to pass through a UV-C irradiation chamber before returning to the aquarium. By targeting free-floating algae, bacteria and fungal spores, the Eclipse Inline UV-C™ helps maintain a healthier aquatic environment with less manual intervention.
Its inline installation keeps all equipment outside the aquarium, resulting in a cleaner, more natural-looking display. The steriliser connects between the outlet of an external filter and the return hose, ensuring that water is first mechanically and biologically filtered before UV-C treatment — maximising sterilisation efficiency and protecting the UV lamp from debris.
The UV-C lamp is protected inside a high-transparency quartz glass sleeve, which isolates the electrical components from the water while allowing maximum UV-C transmission. The outer housing is manufactured from UV-resistant ABS for long-term durability. Multiple hose adapters are included to accommodate the most common aquarium hose sizes.
Suitable for freshwater and marine aquariums, the LGND Eclipse Inline UV-C™ is available in two power ratings — 3W and 5W — to match different aquarium volumes and sterilisation requirements. Both models support continuous operation, horizontal or vertical installation, and accept 13 mm, 16 mm and 19 mm hoses.

Sterilisation Process
- Water is pumped from the aquarium into the external filter.
- Mechanical and biological filtration removes debris and harmful compounds.
- Clean water enters the Eclipse Inline UV-C™ chamber.
- Water flows around the quartz glass sleeve.
- UV-C radiation destroys suspended algae, bacteria, fungal spores and other free-floating microorganisms.
- Sterilised water returns safely to the aquarium.
Note: UV-C sterilisation only affects organisms suspended in the water column. It does not remove algae already attached to glass, rocks or plants.
UV Lamp Replacement ›
- Step 1: Disconnect the power supply. Close the filter valves before opening the steriliser.
- Step 2: Unscrew the upper housing. Remove the lamp assembly carefully.
- Step 3: Withdraw the quartz sleeve. Inspect it for mineral deposits. Clean only with a soft cloth.
- Step 4: Remove the UV-C lamp from the socket. Install a genuine LGND Eclipse Inline UV-C™ Replacement Lamp of the correct wattage (3W or 5W). Avoid touching the glass with bare fingers.
- Step 5: Reinstall the quartz sleeve. Check that the O-ring is correctly positioned. Lubricate with aquarium-safe silicone grease if necessary.
- Step 6: Reassemble the housing. Reconnect the hoses. Restore water flow. Inspect carefully for leaks before reconnecting electrical power.
