MediVera Complete™ is a premium broad-spectrum freshwater treatment formulated to support fish suffering from swim bladder dysfunction and associated buoyancy disorders. The formula is designed to assist fish that are struggling to maintain normal balance, floating uncontrollably, sinking, swimming at unusual angles, or remaining stationary at the surface or bottom of the aquarium.

Swim bladder disorders are often not a disease themselves, but rather a symptom of an underlying condition. In many cases, bacterial infections affecting internal tissues, localized inflammation around the swim bladder, or digestive disturbances that place pressure on internal organs can all interfere with normal buoyancy regulation.

MediVera Complete™ utilizes a carefully balanced therapeutic system intended to support fish during recovery from these common underlying causes. The treatment may be used when fish display lethargy, clamped fins, reduced activity, loss of equilibrium, abnormal swimming behavior, or signs of internal stress associated with swim bladder dysfunction.

Unlike antibiotic-based medications, MediVera Complete™ provides a broad supportive treatment option suitable for use in freshwater community aquariums, quarantine systems, and hospital tanks. Early diagnosis and prompt treatment significantly improve recovery outcomes. Maintaining excellent water quality, stable temperature, and appropriate nutrition remains essential throughout the treatment period.

The solution will temporarily tint aquarium water yellow during treatment. This coloration is normal and can be removed through water changes and activated carbon after treatment is complete.

Swim bladder dysfunction can result from several underlying causes. The following are among the most common conditions where MediVera Complete™ may be beneficial.

Infections Inflammation Digestive Imbalance

Aeromonas / Pseudomonas Associated Swim Bladder Infections

Internal bacterial infections may cause inflammation and fluid accumulation around the swim bladder, preventing normal buoyancy control. Affected fish often struggle to remain upright, drift to one side, float uncontrollably, or sink despite active swimming efforts. Additional symptoms may include lethargy, clamped fins, loss of appetite, and isolation from tankmates.

Suggested Treatment Period:

5 days at full concentration.

Special Considerations

Improvement in buoyancy may take several days after the underlying infection begins to resolve. Continue treatment for the full recommended period even if symptoms begin improving early. Poor water quality is frequently a contributing factor and should be corrected immediately to support recovery.

Internal Organ and Swim Bladder Inflammation

Inflammation affecting the swim bladder itself or surrounding tissues may interfere with the fish's ability to regulate buoyancy. Fish may exhibit unstable swimming, difficulty maintaining position in the water column, rolling behavior, or intermittent loss of balance. These cases commonly occur following physical injury, stress, previous infections, or prolonged exposure to unsuitable water conditions.

5 days at full concentration.

Special Considerations

Inflammatory conditions often improve gradually. Fish should be kept in a calm environment with reduced stress and stable water parameters. Avoid excessive feeding during treatment, as additional internal pressure may worsen symptoms.

Gastrointestinal Compression of the Swim Bladder

Constipation, overfeeding, intestinal blockage, and digestive disturbances may place pressure on the swim bladder and cause buoyancy problems. Fish may float near the surface, struggle to submerge, rest on the substrate, or display abnormal body positioning shortly after feeding.

Special Considerations

Review feeding practices carefully. Overfeeding is one of the most common causes of swim bladder disorders in ornamental fish. Consider fasting affected fish for 24–48 hours where appropriate for the species, followed by a gradual return to a balanced diet. Water quality should be evaluated to ensure digestive stress is not being compounded by environmental factors.

Before Treatment

Remove activated carbon, chemical filtration resins, and any adsorptive media before treatment. Ensure adequate water movement and aeration throughout the aquarium, as fish experiencing buoyancy disorders may already be under significant physiological stress. Ultraviolet sterilizers and ozone generators should be switched off during treatment.

Treating the Aquarium

Add 10 mL per 50 litres (13 US gallons) of aquarium water. Distribute the dose evenly around the aquarium in an area of strong water movement.

Allow the treatment to remain active for a full five-day course. During this period, monitor fish closely for improvements in buoyancy, swimming stability, appetite, and activity levels.

A partial water change may be performed after the treatment period to remove residual coloration. Activated carbon may then be reintroduced if desired.

Repeating Treatment

Treatment may be repeated seven days after the previous dose if symptoms persist. Before administering a second course, verify water quality, review feeding practices, and reassess the diagnosis. A 30% water change is recommended before beginning a repeat treatment.

Follow-Up Care

Recovery from swim bladder disorders may continue after treatment has concluded. Providing stable water conditions, high-quality nutrition, and minimizing stress will significantly improve long-term recovery outcomes.

For aquarium use only. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Do not use for human or veterinary medical purposes. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, clothing, carpets, and furnishings, as the product may cause temporary staining.

Wash hands thoroughly after use. If accidental contact occurs, rinse affected areas with clean water. In case of eye exposure, flush immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice if irritation persists.

Store tightly closed in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Do not exceed recommended dosages. Always investigate underlying causes such as water quality, nutrition, aggression, injury, or chronic disease when treating swim bladder disorders.

The temporary yellow coloration produced during treatment is normal and may be removed after treatment through water changes and activated carbon filtration. Beneficial biological filtration bacteria are not adversely affected when the product is used as directed.
